“At 91 years old, I thought my last steps into Notre Dame Stadium were long ago.”
A lifelong Notre Dame football fan, 91-year-old Tanglewood Trace resident Kay got a private tour of Notre Dame Stadium and tickets to an upcoming game through the Livin’ the Dream program. Kay, who held season tickets for nearly 40 years, was overwhelmed by the opportunity to relive good memories.
“When they wheeled me through the tunnel and out onto the field near the goal posts, I just couldn’t hold back the tears. I could not believe all I got to see. I got to share many of the memories and fun times over the years of going to games with my husband.”
The dream continued when Kay was invited to attend a Notre Dame football game a few days later. Despite the cold weather, she was thrilled to see the Irish play in person once again.
“I could not be more grateful to Tanglewood and all their staff that [went] way beyond their positions to make this all happen. I still don’t know how they did it, but they sure gave me memories to last my lifetime. Thank you for letting me live my dream!”
